Another edition of the International Conference on the Protection of Children in Cars is approaching, which is held every year in Munich and organized by TÜV SÜD. This is the fourteenth conference and will take place on 8 and 9 December.
This conference brings together the largest number of experts on children's road safety in general and child restraint systems in particular. (de Europa, mundial??) Consequently there is bound to be a lot of discussion on the experiences of different countries over the last few years with the harmonization and implementation of the two standards ECE-R 44 and ECE-R 129.;
The conference will also touch on the new Euro NCAP tests that the organization started conducting in 2016 to increase children's safety, and the new compatibility requirements for cars.
There will also be an emphasis on improving the accessibility of Isofix systems and an in-depth examination of new studies and developments, all geared towards understanding issues such as the response of child restraint systems in accidents and the improvements made to reduce the consequences of these incidents.
During the conference there will be a special section on the promotion of child safety on the roads, both inside and outside cars. Sections will also be devoted to reviewing the different safety campaigns rolled out by countries around the world, including educational programs and all the initiatives that have been successful in reducing child accident rates.
The conference is aimed primarily at engineers specializing in safety, accident investigators, biomechanical experts, pediatricians, legislators, consumer organizations, experts in road safety campaigns... in short, everyone who is concerned about road safety in general and, more specifically, about how children travel in cars and how to improve their safety.
