Organized by the Valencia Pediatric Surgery Association and the AITP-Valencia group, on March 3 next the ‘25th AITP-Valencia Course Commemorative Conference: Advances in pediatric polytrauma training’ is to be held for health care professionals.
The conference will take place in the Assembly Room of the La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital in Valencia. It seeks to commemorate the 13 consecutive years that the course has been held. Over 500 students have done the course, thus contributing to the care of child accident victims.
The subject of children's road safety education will be dealt with at the event by Inés Reig and Amparo Domenech, who are education coordinators with the Spanish Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT). Likewise, the manager of the Accident Prevention and Road Safety Area at Fundación MAPFRE, Jesús Monclús, will speak about children's traffic accidents.
Ford will tackle the subject of safety in automobile manufacturing, while ISABA Projects will deal with the subject of manufacturing and installing children's playgrounds.;
Then Dr. Santiago Mintegui from the Pediatric Emergency Service at the Cruces University Hospital at the Basque Country University will speak about preventive aspects of children's accidents and the role of the Unintentional Injuries in Infancy Safety and Prevention Committee. In addition, Dr. Juan Aragó Domingo, Head of the Pediatric Emergency Service at the La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital in Valencia will tackle the subject of ‘pediatric trauma records’.
This will be followed by Dr. Vicente Ibáñez Pradas, Head of the Pediatric Surgery Service Section at the La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital in Valencia who will deal with the subject of the impact of AITP courses on clinical practice. Lastly, Dr. Juan Vázquez Estévez, Director of the Clinical and Experimental Simulation Center at La Paz Hospital in Madrid will speak about the quality of life of the child accident victim.
The conference will close with the paper entitled ‘The history and role of initial assistance in pediatric trauma’ given by Dr. Juan Vázquez Estévez.
